An exceptional vintage Miriam Haskell bracelet showcasing the richly textured, dimensional construction that has made the house one of the most recognizable names in American collectible costume jewelry.

This substantial bracelet is composed of double rows of intricately intertwined gold-tone rope-textured links, creating a beautifully layered appearance with wonderful movement and depth. The combination of textured links and smooth connecting rings gives the bracelet the elaborate, hand-assembled character associated with classic Haskell jewelry.

The focal point is an ornate dimensional floral clasp, centered by a luminous baroque-style pearl and surrounded by beautifully detailed gold-tone metalwork. Rather than functioning simply as hardware, the clasp becomes an integral decorative element of the bracelet.

The original safety chain remains intact, an especially desirable detail on a vintage bracelet of this age.

The reverse of the clasp bears the oval MIRIAM HASKELL signature, clearly identifying the piece.

Substantial, beautifully constructed and unmistakably Haskell, this is the type of vintage bracelet that has presence the moment it is placed on the wrist.

Collector’s Notes

Founded in New York in 1926, Miriam Haskell became one of the defining names in American costume jewelry. The house developed a distinctive design language built around elaborate hand-assembled construction, richly textured metalwork, faux pearls, glass beads and dimensional floral motifs.

Unlike mass-produced costume jewelry designed simply to imitate fine jewelry, Haskell pieces were often intentionally elaborate and artistic. Construction and detail were central to the design, which is one reason vintage Miriam Haskell jewelry continues to have a dedicated collector following.

This bracelet is particularly appealing because several quintessential Haskell elements come together in a single piece: textured gold-tone metalwork, layered construction, a decorative pearl-centered floral clasp, the original safety chain and a clearly signed Miriam Haskell cartouche.

The clasp itself is especially noteworthy. On better vintage jewelry, clasps were frequently incorporated into the overall design rather than hidden, and here the pearl-centered floral closure serves almost as a piece of jewelry within the bracelet.

A beautiful acquisition for an established Miriam Haskell collection and an equally strong introductory piece for someone beginning to collect important American designer costume jewelry.

Styling Notes

This bracelet has enough scale and texture to be worn completely on its own.

Against a crisp white shirt or black silk blouse, the rich gold-tone construction becomes the focal point. It would also look particularly sophisticated emerging from the cuff of a tailored blazer or paired with a simple black dress for evening.

For a more maximalist vintage look, layer it with slimmer gold-tone bracelets or a classic watch. For a cleaner presentation, wear it alone and allow the elaborate rope construction and pearl floral clasp to command attention.

The warmth of the gold and softness of the pearl also make this an easy piece to mix with both contemporary and vintage wardrobes.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition.

The bracelet presents beautifully, with the dimensional link construction, decorative clasp and pearl centerpiece remaining intact.

The Miriam Haskell signature is clearly legible, the clasp functions properly, and the original safety chain remains present and intact.

No repairs are noted.

As an authentic vintage piece, extremely minor evidence of age or handling may be present upon close inspection and is consistent with its history.
