Serene, spiritual, and exquisitely crafted — this vintage carved black jade Buddha exudes both artistry and peace. The hand-carved face, rich in expression and fine detailing, rests against a glowing gold-tone lotus petal mount that radiates quiet elegance. Designed with a convertible setting, it may be worn as either a brooch or a pendant, effortlessly transitioning from statement jewelry to symbolic adornment.

The carved figure tests in the jadeite–nephrite range on the Presidium Gem Tester, confirming it as genuine stone rather than glass or resin. The deep black hue and smooth polish capture light with a subtle sheen, highlighting the artisan’s skill in shaping the contours of the Buddha’s face. The piece closes securely with a fold-over clasp and includes a concealed bail at the top for chain wear.

Unsigned but clearly the work of a skilled mid-century craftsman, this piece embodies the Asian export jewelry style popular in the 1950s–1970s — refined, spiritual, and distinctly collectible.

Convertible carved jade brooches of this style were hand-crafted during the height of mid-century export artistry.
