A beautiful antique sterling silver Art Nouveau pendant by Watson & Newell, featuring deeply sculpted floral relief, pierced openwork, and graceful scrolling lines characteristic of the early 20th century.

At the center, a dimensional blooming rose rises from the silver surface, surrounded by flowing leaves and dramatic acanthus-style curves. The openwork construction gives the piece wonderful depth while allowing the floral design to remain light and architectural.

The pendant has developed a rich natural antique patina, emphasizing every recessed detail and giving the sterling a beautifully aged character.

The reverse bears the recognizable Watson hallmark along with STER., identifying the piece as sterling silver. Watson was an important American silver manufacturer based in Attleboro, Massachusetts, producing sterling flatware, hollowware, souvenir pieces, vanity articles, and other decorative silver.

A substantial and highly decorative example of antique American sterling silver.

Styling Notes

This piece is striking enough to stand alone.

Wear it on a substantial sterling chain, velvet ribbon, antique-style chain, or incorporate it into a layered collection of silver charms and pendants.

Its sculptural rose and darkened patina give it a romantic but distinctly architectural presence.

What makes this piece especially appealing is the combination of substantial sterling weight, floral Art Nouveau design, pierced construction, dimensional relief, and identifiable maker’s mark.

It is a wonderful example of decorative American silver from the early 20th century.
