This antique brooch showcases a smooth, domed carnelian cabochon in a warm reddish-orange hue, elegantly bezel-set in a silver frame. The back is clearly signed silver, indicating a pre-sterling alloy used commonly in late Victorian and Edwardian pieces. The mounting features an early c-clasp and tubular hinge pin, which helps date it to around 1890–1910.
The minimalist frame highlights the natural beauty of the stone, which may also register as jadeite under gemstone testing tools like the Presidium. This versatile piece can be worn as a brooch or possibly converted into a pendant, thanks to the integrated loop on the reverse.
