A remarkable example of mid-century Alice Caviness jewelry, this signed circa-1950s demi-parure pairs an elaborate dimensional brooch with matching articulated clip-on earrings.
The centerpiece is an impressive layered openwork filigree brooch, constructed with extraordinary depth and ornamentation. A large deep cobalt-blue glass stone anchors the design, surrounded by vivid coral-orange glass cabochons that provide an unexpected and beautiful contrast.
The intricate metalwork is enhanced with a softly aged cream/ivory-toned decorative finish, creating definition throughout the scrolling floral and foliate details. The brooch is not simply flat filigree—the construction is layered, giving the piece a dimensional, almost architectural quality.
Three articulated drops suspend from the lower portion of the brooch. Each measures slightly over 1½ inches and moves independently, continuing the ornate metalwork and rich blue glass detailing.
The coordinating earrings echo the brooch beautifully. Each measures approximately 2½ inches long and features blue glass with an elongated articulated drop and original clip-on construction.
Both the brooch and earrings are signed ALICE CAVINESS, making this a particularly compelling set for the Caviness collector.

Collector’s Note
Alice Caviness is particularly admired for her imaginative use of glass, unexpected color combinations and elaborate metalwork. This set brings those qualities together beautifully.
The contrast of cobalt-blue glass against coral-orange accents, combined with layered cream-toned filigree and multiple articulated elements, creates an unusually dramatic Caviness design.
The matching earrings are not merely complementary pieces—they repeat the materials, movement and design language of the brooch, and both components retain their Alice Caviness signatures.
An exceptional statement demi-parure for the collector of signed mid-century costume jewelry.
Styling Notes
Let this set command the attention.
Wear the brooch against black, ivory, camel or deep navy to emphasize the intricate filigree and saturated blue glass. The earrings are substantial enough to wear independently, while the complete demi-parure creates a spectacular collector-level statement.
